Gymnastics - first practice

Kaleb with friend Hanna before gymnastics

There he goes....

I didn't know this until after, but Kaleb's instructor was sick, so he got put in with the level 3 & 4 boys, which meant he got to do,some really spectacular things!

Like the bars! (Which are his favorite things to play on a school. He told me his instructor taught him how to re-grip.

Waiting for his turn to run and jump on the mini trampoline and do a trick into the foam pit.

Future Gymnasts

Kaleb will be starting gymnastics this week. He got to try his skills out at the gym over the weekend when he was invited to a birthday party for his friend J.B. I have to say, BEST birthday party location EVER! The kids had SO much fun.

I wasn't surprised, okay, perhaps a little, at Kaleb's athletic ability. I've seen him in other athletic endeavors and it appears to be a breeze for him. But I was a little stunned, and very proud, when I saw him scale up the rope and ring the bell at the very top. And when I say scale, I mean scale. He made it look so easy! He did this not once, but FOUR times!

Caught this picture of him on the way down

Showing off his big muscles

Eric, not exactly scaling, but he made it to the top.

On the rings

Jaxon goes to open gym on Fridays. He loves it too!

Foam pit is his favorite

The birthday crew.

Jaxon's friend Fin giving him BIG bear hugs. Melted my heart.

Skatetown

The day after Christmas we headed into the "big city" of Roseville, a suburb of Sacramento, and went ice skating at the indoor ice arena.
All geared up

Buckets helped!

Gaining confidence
Kaleb started out on double blades, and switched to single after 10 minutes.

And completely took off!
They had a small outdoor ice rink too, and it was 60 degrees outside!

Skating with mom

Down he goes! But got right back up again!

Great end to a fun day, spending their gift cards from Grandma and Grandpa to Toys R Us
